RUMFORD – The Rumford Eagles will host a child advocacy day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Hall.
The event will feature presentations by Rumford and Mexico police officers, fire departments, and Boy and Girl Scout troops to benefit young people and their parents.
Morning programs will include photo ID sessions, finger-printing, fire and home safety, drug awareness, drug abuse, gun safety and first-aid education.
In the afternoon, fundraising activities will be held, including a free youth dance. In the evening, a benefit dance for adults will be held from 8 p.m. until midnight. Cost for the adult dance is $5. All funds raised will benefit area youth groups.
On May 1, the Eagles Club will hold an open mic night for teenagers from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
