SOUTH PARIS – Lloyd L. Witham, 91, of Norway, died Wednesday, April 8, at Market Square Health Care Center,
He was born in Norway, May 22, 1917, the son of Irving and Florence Card Witham and he attended Norway schools.
He was in the Merchant Marines and the 103rd infantry. He retired in 1971 from Public Service, Electric and Gas Co. in New Jersey. He was a member of the Stone-Smart American Legion in Norway, a life member of the Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association and a member of the Weary Club.
On Dec. 24, 1963, he married Lida Hamlin, who predeceased him on July 29, 2001.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Tapley of South Paris; a grandson, James Tapley and his fiancée, Jessica Nichols; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Flora Gartman of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, June Howard.
He was predeceased by brothers, Willard and Harvey; and sisters, Jeannette Pratt and Louise.
