WALDOBORO (AP) – Authorities say an anonymous tip led to a raid at a home in Waldoboro, where police and state drug agents seized more than 300 marijuana plants.

Police said 29-year-old Clifford Schwanke was arrested at the scene Wednesday night and charged with aggravated cultivation and trafficking of marijuana. Schwanke is being held on $350,000 bail.

Police told WCSH-TV that it was the largest seizure ever of marijuana grown indoors in Waldoboro. The street value was estimated at up to $700,000.

Police said the rented home on Depot Street was equipped with large specialty growing lights and an electronically controlled hydroponic growing system.
