AUGUSTA (AP) – Anticipating $4 million for youth employment services, the Maine Department of Labor and the state’s four local work force investment boards are hosting a forum Monday to develop a youth summer employment program.

Funding comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The program is for people under the age of 25 looking for work experience and a chance to learn new skills.

Maine first lady Karen Baldacci, who chairs the Children’s Cabinet, kicks off the event Monday afternoon (1 p.m.) at the Augusta Civic Center.
