JAY – A Jay man was arrested early Saturday after a neighbor heard noise in an upstairs apartment and knew the occupant wasn’t home, police Chief Larry White Sr. said.
Jesse R. Gauvin, 31, of 17 Main St., was arrested on charges of felony burglary, and misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug – two oxycodone pills, and violation of conditions of release, White said.
Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier responded to the call and once he arrived at the apartment, identified himself as a police officer, and yelled for anyone in it to come out, White said.
Gauvin came out of a room, White said.
Police are still investigating how he got into the apartment, White said.
