AUBURN – Robert A. Pomerleau Sr., 83, of Hatch Road, Auburn, died Wednesday, April 15, peacefully at home.

He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 7, 1926, the son of Hector and Philimina Fortin Pomerleau. He was raised in Lewiston and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Geraldine Edwards, on Feb. 2, 1949.

He was a drop forger most of his life, retiring from Crosby Loughlin Foundry in 1985. He and his wife wintered for 20 years in Florida. He enjoyed NASCAR, Red Sox, Patriots, camping and spending time with his family.

He is survived by seven children, Ronald and wife, Kathy of Poland, Joe and companion, Linda, of Poland, David of Lewiston, Glen and wife, Lynne, of Poland, Charlie and wife, Rhonda, of Utah, Bob and wife, Terry, of Poland and Brenda and husband, Bob, of Lewiston; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Peggy Pomerleau; brother-in-law, Sonny and wife, Lorene Edwards; nieces and nephews; and his special pet, Mitsy.

He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine, who passed away on Sept. 10, 2004; and a brother, Marcel.
