AUBURN – Robert M. Merrill, 19, of Auburn died tragically Thursday, April 16.

Robert grew up in Poland. He was a gentle soul with an especially gifted talent for auto mechanics. He lived with his beloved LaTasha in Auburn. The two were bonded in a love most people only dream of.

Robert loved spending time with his Dad, the two were often engaged in a project in his dad’s workshop. He loved spending time with his grandparents, Bob and Lou Merrill. He and his younger brother, Ryan were bonded stronger than most brothers. He was also close to his younger sister, Lee-Anna.

He loved to spend time with his mother, the two often had lunch together. He enjoyed visiting with his gram Sandra McNear. He had numerous friends, they were important to him, they were part of his family.

Robert is survived by his love, LaTasha Dorrington of Auburn; his father and stepmother, Michael and Amy Merrill of Poland; his mother and stepfather, Pam and Frank Samay of Turner; his brother and stepsister, Ryan Merrill and Lee-Anna Hopper; his stepsister and stepbrother, Alexa and Anthony Samay of Turner; his grandparents, Bob and Mary Lou Merrill of Poland and Sandra McNear of Leeds; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Alfred McNear.
