SOMERVILLE, Mass. (AP) – Tufts University is investigating an incident in which several Korean students say an intoxicated freshman spewed slurs at them and started a fistfight.
The school’s dean said the incident earlier this month apparently involved “a physical altercation and racial epithets” against the five Korean students.
The Boston Globe reported in Sunday’s editions that the freshman, who is white, approached the students as they practiced for a cultural show and demanded they show him their dance moves.
A statement from the Korean Students Association said the student allegedly yelled slurs, spat at them and started a fight, so they put him in a headlock and pinned him to the floor.
