MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut state police say they arrested a Massachusetts woman on allegations she left her 9-year-old daughter alone in a hotel room while she went to a gambling area of Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Joanne Salvatore of Quincy was charged with leaving a child unsupervised in a public place of accommodation and released on a $250 bond. She’s due in New London Superior Court on June 8.

Troopers say the girl called 911 Monday to report that she was alone in a room at the Great Cedar Hotel at Foxwoods.

Authorities say casino security workers paged Salvatore, who was arrested when she returned to the room from the casino floor.

The child was unharmed. Authorities notified the Department of Children and Families.
