POLAND – McKenzie Burke was a force to be reckoned with on the mound and at the plate, as she struck out seven batters and knocked in three runs with two doubles to lead Wells to a 12-0 victory over Poland.
Wells finished the game with 15 hits and zero errors. Sarah Quint went 4-4 and had three RBIs.
The Knights were plagued with 10 errors and were limited to two hits.

Messalonskee 13, Lewiston 9
LEWISTON – Miranda Tinsman led all players with five goals as Messalonskee beat Lewiston 13-9 in a girls’ lacrosse season-opener in a rainy Wednesday matchup.
Abbey Stacey and Maddi Kadnar each contributed three goals for the Eagles, while Avery Kadnar and Ally DeLisle rounded out the offensive attack with a goal apiece.
Shelby Turcotte paced the Blue Devils with three goals and an assist, while Kristen Lacasse tallied a pair of goals. Jill St. Laurent, Kirstin McCombs, Kirby Rodrigue, and Olivia Fournier each score.
