BOSTON – The Boston Red Sox have activated outfielder Jonathan Van Every from the 15-day disabled list.

He had been on the DL all season with a right ankle sprain.

Van Every went 2-for-6 with a tying grand slam with two out in the ninth inning in his lone rehab appearance for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Outfielder Chris Carter was sent to Pawtucket on Thursday.
