FARMINGTON – Gerry Davidson, 91, of Chesterville, died Wednesday, April 22, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Geraldine Louise Kimball was born on Dec. 1, 1917, at the Charles Chamberlain House in Kingfield, the only daughter of Robert L. and Edna L. (Waterhouse) Kimball. She graduated from Kingfield High School in 1935, and Northeastern Business School in Portland.

Gerry was employed as a stenographer for H.S. Wing at Kingfield Savings Bank for several years before going to work at H.G. Winter & Sons until her retirement 40 years later.

As a young woman she married R. Perry Mercurio on Jan. 18, 1946. He predeceased her on June 29, 1993. Gerry remarried years later to Leland K. Davidson on June 7, 1998. He died on Jan. 19, 2007.

Gerry was a wonderful woman who had a tremendous zest for life. She loved cats and dogs and was concerned about the welfare of all animals. She truly enjoyed making charitable contributions to various organizations. She enjoyed music and her role as organist at the New Portland Community Church (West Village). Gerry loved the company of friends, social gatherings, shopping, dining out and reading.

She is survived by her beloved pet companion, “Kitty Cat;” many wonderful friends; and Leland’s children, Judy and Karl.
