AUGUSTA (AP) – Maine is marking National Guard Appreciation Day.
At the State House, Gov. John Baldacci plans to participate in a video teleconference with Lt. Col. Diane Dunn in Afghanistan.
Dunn is commander of the recently deployed 286th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. She is the first woman to command a Maine Army Guard unit headed to Iraq or Afghanistan.
