LEWISTON – Maurice A. Roy, 71, of Avalon Street, Lewiston, died peacefully Tuesday, April 28, at Russell Park Manor, after a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, on April 15, 1938, the son of the late Wilfred and Noella (Labonte) Roy. He was educated in local schools, graduating from St. Dominic High School. He married Constance E. Toussaint on Oct. 14, 1961, celebrating more than 47 years together.

He worked for Philips Elmet for more than 40 years as a parts fabricator, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church and of the American Legion Post 22. He also served his country as a member of the Air Force National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and especially time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Constance of Lewiston; two sons, Denis and his wife, Elaine, and Raymond, all of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Katelyn Roy of Lewiston and Tyler and Alexis Roy of Greene; one sister, Lorraine Blouin and her husband, Roger, of Lewiston; and one brother, Gerard Roy and his wife, Geneva, of Lewiston.

The family thanks the Russell Park staff, the Allegiance Hospice nurses and Dr. Rubin Bell for the care and compassion shown to Maurice during his illness.
