LEWISTON – Donald L. Spriggs Jr., 53, of 21 Leland St., Lewiston, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family Tuesday, April 28, at Central Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Bozeman, Mont., Sept. 30, 1955, the son of Donald L. and Joyce (Kronkright) Spriggs Sr.

Don attended schools in Coos, Ore., where he also graduated from Marshfield High School in 1973. He then pursued a career as a finished carpenter and general contractor. For the last several years, he was employed with Keiser Homes of Oxford.

He loved to remodel homes, travel, snowmobile, and go camping with his family. He also had a passion for sailboats. He enjoyed going to the movies with his children, and shared many laughs playing cards at the dinner table.

He was married in Anchorage, Alaska, on Aug. 31, 1984, to the late Jean Arnold Spriggs, who died Jan. 28, 2005.

Survivors include his mother, Joyce Allen of Oregon; three daughters, Deb Fournier and husband, Dan, of Buxton, Wanda Cote and husband, Richard, of Rumford and Cindy Courchesne and husband, Claude, of Leeds; four grandchildren, Amanda Fournier, Dickie Cote, and Katelyn and Zachary Courchesne; one sister, Karen Bridges and husband, Don, of Oregon; one brother, Steven Spriggs and wife, Carrie, of Oregon; two nephews, Joe and Tanner; four nieces, Angela, Amanda, Sara and Shelby; and a sister-in-law, Joan Kasregis and husband, Bill, of Roxbury.
