SEATAC, Wash. (AP) – A Boeing 777 landed safely at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after flames shot out of one of its engines.

Airport spokesman Perry Cooper said the Asiana Airlines Flight 271 turned around soon after takeoff Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses on the ground reported hearing explosions.

Cooper says it was unclear what might have caused the flames. The plane dumped fuel over Puget Sound before landing.

The flight was headed to Seoul.
