DADE CITY, Fla. – Gerard “Gerry” Coulombe of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Auburn, passed away March 6 at the Dade City Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1926, to Joseph and Josephine Marchant Coulombe in Auburn. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served aboard the USS Charger and the USS Boxer.

On Feb. 24, 1948, he married Florence Stevens in Bay City, Mich., where he worked as a boilermaker. For many years, he was a policeman for the city of Auburn. He then returned to work as a boilermaker in many parts of the country, ending up in Zephyrhills, Fla., where they lived for 32 years.

He was a life member of the VFW, a member of the Eagles and a member of the Moose in Zephyrhills.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years; one son, Gary Coulombe of Leeds; two grandsons, Craig of Auburn and Danny of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Ella Bennett and Jeannette Stanton; four brothers, Leo, Paul, Louis and Roland Coulombe; and a grandson, Lucas Coulombe.
