WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) – Police in Connecticut are investigating the shooting death of a bouncer outside a Waterbury nightclub.

City authorities say 27-year-old Lawrence Mates, a bouncer at Swizzle Stix on Lakewood Road, was shot in the head in the bar’s parking lot Saturday night after removing a person from the nightclub.

Police say Mates was involved in a dispute with the person he kicked out of the bar and several other people in the parking lot before he was shot.

Investigators say they have an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Andre West of Meriden charging him with murder. Police are looking for him.
