Dear Sun Spots: I have some legal and financial papers that I would like to dispose of, other than the local landfill. Is there a nearby company that provides the service of shredding such documents? Thank you. – C.W., Livermore Falls.

Answer: Consider contacting File-Busters, 95 Lisbon Road, Lisbon, 514-0265 or 1-800-373-7566 for secure and confidential document destruction. According to company President Heather Rideout, they service the entire state but generally provide service within a two-hour travel time from Lewiston-Auburn and she notes that they travel to the Livermore Falls area at least once every 60 days, so they can pick up your papers en route. You can drop them off, however be sure to call ahead so they will be available. You can also book an appointment to watch the documents be destroyed.

Dear Sun Spots: Any information on why Channel 13 does not air “Awake in Faith” anymore with Bishop Richard Malone? It was on about 5:55 in the morning. It was very inspirational.

Many thanks to channels 6 and 8 for not going digital until June 12, really enjoy channel 6 news and weather mornings and the kidding around they do with each other, also the news on weekends. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: Sun Spots spoke with Terry Cole, station manager at WGME, and Sue Bernard, communications director for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, who both explained that the “Awake in Faith” series with Bishop Malone was originally contracted and funded to appear Monday through Friday, for all of Advent through the end of the Holy Week.

Cole has received other positive feedback from viewers about the program and they both said that they are looking into the idea of bringing something similar back to the station. Bernard noted that because of the time commitment to have a weekday segment written and produced, she thinks they may air segments on an interim basis, as was the case with “Awake in Faith.”

Dear Sun Spots: You can find micro cloths (Sun Spots, Thursday, April 30) at any car supply places in the cleaning section. Also, I got them at Wal-Mart in the automotive section. I don’t remember the price but they last forever! – No Name, No Town.
