BOURNE, Texas – Robert K. Brown, 64, passed away at his home in Bourne, Texas, on April 29, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born to George W. and Frances (Emery) Brown on Aug. 23, 1943, in Pittsfield. He attended Pittsfield schools and M.C.I., where he played soccer. He was a great reader, enjoyed poetry, gardening and his dogs.

He was a loyal employee at SAS in San Antonio, Texas, for the last 33 years as a leather buyer. He traveled widely for the company enjoying his work and his fellow workers.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shelia (Chandonnet) Brown of Bourne, Texas; a daughter, Bobbi-Jo Hebert and husband, Kevin, of Bradford, R.I.; a son, Christopher R. Brown of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Darrell G. Brown and wife, Duck Hee, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Georgie Farrin and husband, Ronald, of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, James Hebert, Jeffrey Hebert and Emily Hebert of Rhode Island, and Elizabeth Brown of Texas; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins; and very special in-laws.

He was predeceased by his father, George W. Brown of Lewiston; his mother and stepfather, Frances L. and Wilton S. Buckley of Pittsfield; and a special aunt, Glenice M. Emery of Pittsfield.
