PELHAM, N.H. (AP) – Police in Pelham, N.H., say they have arrested a burglary suspect who allegedly told a homeowner he was sorry he had taken his property, then put it all back.
Thirty-two-year-old Patrick Donovan of Dracut, Mass., was arrested Monday night and charged with burglarizing the home on April 10th. Police say a resident caught a burglar coming out of his house with jewelry boxes and electronic items. The homeowner told police that when he approached the burglar, he apologized, put the stolen goods back and left.
Police also charged Donovan with a second Pelham burglary and are investigating whether he was involved in others in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
