Cheer teams merit titles

LEWISTON – Fortier Family Cheer Center, home of the Planet Cheer All Stars, recently earned two National Champion titles during a competition held in Hershey, Pa.

The two-day event was was hosted by the Eastern Cheerleader and Dance Association, and each day’s score counted 50 percent towards the final placement.

Planet Cheer’s Senior Open Level 4 Astros team placed first in their division. The association also granted the team a full paid bid, worth approximately $1000, to the US Finals competition to be held in May in Virginia Beach, Va.

Planet Cheer’s International Coed Open Level 5 Galaxy team was named National Champions in their division. The team’s high score earned them a partial paid bid, worth $2500, to the Cheerleading Worlds to be held in April in Orlando, Fla.
