HAMPDEN (AP) – The investigation into the death of a Hampden teenager whose body was found near a gravel pit has led police to charge a Newburgh man with furnishing drugs to minors and a place for minors to consume alcohol.
Hampden police said 44-year-old Michael Joseph Fortunato was accused of furnishing prescription muscle relaxers and marijuana.
Cpl. Chris Bailey told the Bangor Daily News that the charges are not directly connected with the cause of 17-year-old Nathan Clark’s death.
Investigators are awaiting the outcome of toxicology tests before autopsy results are made available.
Police say Clark attended a gathering at Fortunato’s home on March 21 and was reported missing the next day. His body was found four days later.
