NORWAY – Robert H. Swallow, 71, of Norway died Thursday, May 7, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Lewiston, on May 11, 1937, the son of Asa and Victoria Kendall Swallow. He graduated from South Paris High School in 1955.

In 1958, he became a member of the Army Security Agency and served in Japan, Great Britain and Fort Devens. He married Joan Conner on April 8, 1961, in Bethel. He relocated to Vermont in January 1970, and worked for Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury, and later owned and operated it until he retired in 1986. The Swallows returned to Norway in 2000.

He is survived by his wife of Norway; a special nephew, Wayne Delano and his wife, Sandra; nephew, Scott Delano and his wife, Mary Anne; and nephew, Ricky and his fiancée, Sharon.
