PORTLAND – After the success of their May 5 CD release performance at the Scarborough Bull Moose store, Sparks The Rescue (STR) is coming back for more. The band will perform a live acoustic set at the Lewiston Bull Moose. 20 East Ave., on AT 5:30 P.M., ON May 14. The concert is free and open to the public, and the band will be available to sign copies of the new CD.
“We, and certainly the 150-plus fans who turned out, were delighted by the success of the May 5 STR in-store in Scarborough,” said Jim Pinfold of Bull Moose. “Everyone had a blast, and we sold a record number of their new CD release, “Eyes to the Sun.” We’re really excited to capture that enthusiasm and bring them to Lewiston.”
One of the top-selling local bands at Bull Moose, Sparks The Rescue is a five-piece rock band based in Portland. After the local popularity of their EP “The Secrets We Can’t Keep” in 2007, STR was signed by California-based independent label Fearless Records. “Eyes To The Sun,” STR’s first full-length album, is also their first to be distributed nationally.
Sparks The Rescue is comprised of Alex Roy (vocals), Patrick O’Connell (guitar), Toby McAllister (guitar), Ben Briggs (bass), and Nathan Spencer (drums). The band members all started performing while still in high school, and have been playing music for nearly a decade. Together they have logged over 200 live shows in New England alone.
