Kerry Ouellette, one of a six-person landscaping crew, shovels dark mulch into buckets that are then used to mulch about 250 juniper shrubs and 25 evergreen trees that are being planted along a section of the banking on Route 2. The Maine Department of Transportation recently completed a major road project just east of Dixfield. The plantings, along with rip-rap and stone work, are used to stablize the soil. Ouellette works for Norpine Landscaping of Kingsfield.
