BUCKSPORT (AP) – The Verso Paper mill in Bucksport is preparing to have all four of its paper-making machines up and running this week for the first time in six months.
Spokesman Bill Cohen told the Bangor Daily News that the mill’s No. 2 paper machine will begin producing a specialty grade of paper beginning Friday for a limited two-week run.
When that happens, it will mark the first time since November that all four machines at the mill will be producing at the same time. That means all 760 mill employees will be back at work, at least for two weeks.
Cohen said having all four machines up and running is reason for cautious optimism.
But that mill officials don’t know what’s going to happen after the two-week run.
