AUBURN – The Court Street Baptist Church music committee will host Christian recording artists Katie Nelson and Scott Troyer on Sunday, May 17. The musicians will provide music in the morning as well as a concert during the evening service at 6 p.m. The church is located at 129 Court St.

The night will be filled with testimonies, reflective stories and heartfelt praise in song. Nelson and Troyer’s most recent project is a selection of hymns which they have arranged together.

Nelson has a passion for sharing God’s Word through song and has been leading others in joyful worship for six years. It is her goal to leave worshippers with their eyes focused on Jesus.

In addition to participating in the 2007 American Baptist Musicians Conference as the contemporary worship leader, Nelson has participated in many other conferences on the Green Lake campus, and performed at numerous coffeehouses, workshops and churches. She has released three albums, “Alabaster Worship,” “Do you know who He is?” and “Speak to Me.” Two of her CDs are available at the Web site katienelsonmusic.com. Her poetry and online journal entries can be viewed at www.myspace.com/katiednelson.

Troyer is a singer, songwriter and producer. His style ranges from folksy roots to electronic-infused rock and soulful worship. His music gathers the familiar sounds of the past and presents them in engaging arrangements.

Troyer was born and raised in Indiana, and travels extensively through the United States and abroad. A complete list of his musical projects is available at the Web site www.scotttroyer.com or www.myspace.com/scotttroyer.

A reception with refreshments will follow the concert, with the chance to mingle with Nelson and Troyer, and CDs will be available for sale. The evening concert will be free to the public, with a love offering to be collected during the program.

The church can be contacted by phone at 784-6661 or by e-mail at [email protected].
