RUMFORD – Irving Jason Adams Sr., 74, of Dixfield, went home to be with the Lord, early Tuesday, May 12, at the Rumford Community Home.

He was born on March 11, 1935, in Rumford, the son of Stanley and Verna (Whittemore) Adams. He attended Dixfield schools, graduating in 1953.

After a brief stint in the U.S. Army, he worked at G.H. Bass in Wilton, retiring after 28 years.

He was a 60-year member of the Dixfield Common Baptist Church and was also a member of the Dixfield American Legion Post 100. He enjoyed camping and the company of friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Louise (LaBreque) Adams of Dixfield, whom he married on June 26, 1965, in Dixfield; children, David Adams of Peru, Veronica Abbott and her husband, Brian, of Warren, Irving Jason Adams Jr. of Temple, Texas, and Tammy Buotte and her companion, Marc Siler, of Indiana; grandchildren, Amy and Jason Adams, Heather and Jason Dakin, Angela Abbott and Nicolette Anctil; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steven Adams and his wife, Rachel, of Livermore Falls.

He was predeceased by his parents.
