RANGELEY – The Rangeley baseball squad didn’t show Forest Hills any hospitality on Tuesday, sweeping an East-West Conference doubelheader. In the first contest, Pat Anthony struck out 12 and walked none as Rangeley hustled to a 7-3 win. Anthony and Quinn Philbrick had three hits each.
In the nightcap, Jordan Richard fanned five batters and received ample run support as the Lakers (7-0) completed the sweep with a 10-0 shutout. Richard added three hits.
Boys’ lacrosse
Brunswick 9, EL 4
AUBURN – Tom Gibson and Derek Beaulieu led a balanced offense with two goals apiece as unbeaten Brunswick knocked off Edward Little, 9-4, in boys’ lacrosse. Tim Brodsky scored three goals for EL (2-5), while Donnie Dufour added the other marker.
Girls’ lacrosse
O. Hills 12, Mtn. Valley 11
RUMFORD – Heather Knights scored with 1:11 left in regulation Tuesday, lifting Oxford Hills to a 12-11 girls’ lacrosse victory over Mountain Valley.
Knights finished with three goals for the Vikings (3-2), while Ebony Mills and Rachel Strauss also registered a hat trick.
Lauren Brett chipped in with two goals to complete the scoring.
Ayla Allen scored four goals to lead the Falcons (3-3).
