AUGUSTA (AP) – A bill working its way toward enactment would increase Maine residents’ snowmobile registration fees by $5.

A measure that’s received initial House approval would raise the fee from $35 to $40 per year. The money would go to the state’s Snowmobile Trail Fund.

The bill, which faces further House and Senate votes, replaces an earlier version that proposed $15 registration increases.
