Grange supper
BETHEL – Alder River Grange will hold a supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Grange. Cost will be $7, adults, $3, under age 3, for baked beans, hot dogs, salads, casseroles and dessert.

PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, South Paris, invites all children to Sunday school and adults to “Making the Old Story Our Story” at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 17. Worship service will be at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship.

Farm Preserve
NORWAY – Wetlands scientist Don Murphy will present an on-site talk about how and when to recognize vernal pools and how to protect and nurture them from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the Roberts Farm Preserve, rain or shine. Potluck supper
WATERFORD – The Wilkins Community House, Plummer Hill Road, will hold its final monthly community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21. All are welcome. Bring a dish to share; bread and beverage will be provided. The hosts will be Ginny and Denny Raymond. Community suppers will resume in October and are always held the third Thursday of the month.
Blood drive

Finance class
PARIS – A free “Financing Your Future” class will be offered at Western Maine University and Community College Center, 232 Main St., Paris, in June.
The class will explore attitudes and beliefs about money, look at current financial situations, create a savings plan and discuss wise use of credit.

Museum opening
WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Historical Society Museum on Main Street will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays beginning in June.
The museum features art, furniture, glass, china, vintage clothing, quilts, tools, posters, jewelry, musical instruments and old photos.
Also on the ground floor is a research library and gift shop. Society members will serve as guides, and everyone is welcome.
Craft day
GARDINER – The Center for Maine Craft will host a Woodturning School Studio Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23 (rain date, Monday May 25).
Objects by the Woodturning School’s artists and faculty will be featured in the Center for Maine Craft’s exhibition gallery space through May 31. The Studio Day will be an opportunity to learn how the artists create the turned wood cups, bowls, vases, candlesticks and pepper mills.
