DIXFIELD – The following incidents were handled recently by the Dixfield Police Department.

Warrant

An arrest warrant has been issued for Derrick Knox, 22, Carlton Avenue, Mexico, on a charge of domestic assault for an incident that occurred at 6 p.m. May 1 on Arsenault Drive.

Fuel thefts

The Dixfield Police Department has received several complaints of firewood being stolen from the yards of East Dixfield residents. Sgt. Jeff Howe said a resident spotted an older model pickup truck whose driver was seen taking split firewood. He said other wood-related thefts involving a wood splitter and a motor for a wood splitter were received at the beginning of the heating season. Although there is little that can be done to prevent the theft of firewood that is stored outside, he said residents who have outside fuel oil tanks can protect themselves by installing caps with locks on tanks. He said several reports of the theft of fuel oil were received earlier this year.
