AUBURN – Four of the dealerships targeted by Chrysler for closure are in Maine.

According to the list published Friday, Bowen Brothers of Livermore Falls, Morong of Brunswick, Ballenger Auto Co. of Sanford and the Fuller Auto Mall of Rockland will be cut from Chrysler.

Bowen, Morong and Fuller sell only Jeep, according to the list. Ballenger sells Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Dodge trucks.

Phone calls to Bowen Brothers on Thursday for comment were not returned.

Chrysler is looking to cut about 25 percent of its 3,200 U.S. dealerships. Dealers were notified by letter Thursday whether they were in or out.

Lee Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge of Auburn, Maine’s largest Chrysler dealer, is not affected. Also unaffected are Bessey Motor Sales in South Paris, Franklin Chrysler in Farmington.
