GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) – The bodies of two hikers who attempted to swim across the Colorado River have been found two weeks after authorities recovered the body of a teen who was part of the group.

Grand Canyon National Park spokeswoman Maureen Oltrogge says the bodies of 16-year-old Saif Savaya and 22-year-old Joey Merrill were discovered Thursday by a private boating party and a commercial river operator.

Searchers found the body of 16-year-old Mark Merrill days after the three jumped in the river on April 30. They had been on a trip organized by the Tri-City Baptist Church in Tempe, Ariz.

Oltrogge has said that the three were not wearing life vests.
