BETHEL – Northeast Bank and Insurance Group has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America in a “Whistle-Stop Tour” of seven of their Central and Western Maine locations. The tour will begin at the Bethel branch at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 21, where the Bethel Rotary will be recognized for its Scouting contributions.
At each location the total amount raised this year for Friends of Scouting for the Abnaki District $30,000 goal will be announced.
The annual campaign consists of two parts. The Family Campaign asks Scouting families to contribute and has raised $13,778 of its half of the total. The Community Campaign has raised $5,342 of its $15,000 goal so far this year to date.
The Band of Tourists include Abnaki District Nominating Committee member Auburn Mayor John Jenkins, Abnaki District Vice Chairman for Finance Ed Desgrossielliers and Abnaki District Executive Scott Verrill.
At each location light refreshments will be provided and local Scouts will make the donor appreciation presentations.

10 a.m., Northeast Bank Insurance Group, 89 Main St., Mexico.
11 a.m., Northeast Buckfield Branch, 2 Depot St.
1:30 p.m., Northeast South Paris Branch, 235 Main St.
3 p.m., Northeast Mechanic Falls Branch, 26 Pleasant St.
4 p.m., Northeast Auburn Branch, 232 Center St.
5:15 p.m., Northeast Lewiston Branch, 882 Lisbon St.
