LEWISTON – Scott Richards has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
He practices family medicine in addition to completing his clinical psychology doctoral internship at St. Mary’s Health System’s Second Street Family Practice in Auburn. He has been a physician assistant for 15 years.
Richards earned the recognition due to his outstanding contributions to patient care and the profession during his years as a physician assistant. Scott has also demonstrated significant dedication and involvement in the community of Lewiston/Auburn and past communities in which he was employed.
Past awards and recognitions include being inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society, the national physician assistant honor society for promotion and recognition of significant academic achievement, leadership, research, and community/professional service in 2009; and the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, indicating national recognition for academic excellence in the study of psychology in 2005.
He is a graduate of Hahnemann University’s physician assistant program. His academic background includes a bachelor of arts degree with magna cum laude honors from the University of Massachusetts, Boston; a bachelor of science degree in medical studies from Hahnemann University; and a master of science degree in psychology from Walden University. He is finishing up his clinical psychology doctoral degree.
