LEWISTON – Deborah Jean Stevens, 54, of Sabattus, went home to the house of the Lord on Wednesday, May 12, to again be reunited with her loving husband.

She was born in Oxford, a daughter of Harvey L. Verrill and Helen C. Letourneau. She spent many years caring for others, old and young alike, and was especially devoted to the care of her husband in his last years on Earth.

Through the years, she enjoyed reading, long relaxing strolls, the company of many canine companions as well maintaining an open heart and invitation to her home on Sabattus Lake.

She is survived by her son, Gunnery Sgt. Kevin W. Lerette and his wife, Matina, of Okinawa, Japan; her daughter, Sherry (Lerette) St.Amant and her husband, Richard, of Lisbon; four grandchildren, her “Babies” Katelyn and Nicholas Lerette and Clariece and Jacob St.Amant; sisters, Ramona Naragon and her husband, Thomas, of Lisbon Falls and Pamela Lawrence and her husband, James, of Sonoita, Ariz.; nephew, Richard Ellison; and her kindhearted cousin, Leland Verrill of Leeds.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Stevens Sr.; father, Harvey Lewis Verrill; and her mother, Helen Celia (Bressette) Letourneau.
