POLAND – Voters Tuesday approved an $18.7 million budget for Regional School Unit 16 by a margin of 128-60.

The referendum ballot passed comfortably in Mechanic Falls and Minot, but voters in Poland turned it down. In Mechanic Falls the vote was 54-7; in Minot, 34-4; and in Poland, 40-49.

Since voters in the school unit’s three towns, overall, approved the spending plan, the 2009-10 budget has received final approval.
