NEW YORK (AP) – A businessman is accused of ordering an associate to take out his dentures at gunpoint.
Staten Island resident Joseph Nativo concedes he made the denture demand during an argument over money.
But he denies it was a theft; Nativo says he paid for them in the first place. He also says no gun was involved.
Nativo is due back in court July 1. He was arrested Monday on a charge of first-degree robbery.
Says the defendant: “We yelled and we argued. … But in the end, those teeth belonged to me.”
