Police said the crash happened on Wednesday as 48-year-old Terrance Lavway of Castle Hill approached a state road grader, which was on the road’s shoulder. Lavway apparently misjudged the distance between his car and the grader when attempting to pass and struck the grader.
Troopers say Lavway, who was not wearing his seat belt, died at the scene from massive internal trauma.
