LEWISTON – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community is offering a free five-week “Assertive and Effective Communication” training at the University of Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College on Westminster Street.

It will be held Wednesdays, May 27 and June 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Participants will review skills, interests and experiences and relate them to career options, identify educational and training opportunities, and develop a step-by-step plan to achieve career goals. The interactive training will show attendees how to communicate in an open, honest and direct manner that can help them express themselves positively while respecting others at the same time.
