AUBURN – Alice P. Melloni, 95, formerly of 49 Newbury St. and the Chapman House, at 41 Pleasant St., passed away on Thursday, May 21, at Clover Manor.

She was born in Manchester, N.H., on Sept. 14, 1913, the daughter of the late Donat Pratte and Emily Brulotte.

She was educated in New Hampshire schools and was married to George Melloni who predeceased her March 29, 1975.

Prior to her retirement in 1975, Alice was employed as a stitcher at Shapiro Brothers Shoe Co.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at St. Louis Church, Ladies of Ste. Anne and the Sons of Italy Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards and knitting, having made many mittens for Head Start children. She also greatly enjoyed the company of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita Gammon and husband, Richard, of Auburn; three grandchildren, Michael Gammon and wife, Sandi, of Auburn, Rick Gammon and wife, Lynne, of Portland, and Elaine Gammon and friend, Joe Harrigan, of Portland; three great-grandchildren, Andrea and Jocelyn Gammon, and Erica Langelier and husband, Romaine; three great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Thea and Abby Langelier; one niece, Jeanne Randall, and two nephews, Roland Petrin and Georges Pratte from New Hampshire.
