Lewiston – Jean M. Larochelle, 82, of Lemaire Avenue, died suddenly at his home on Friday, May 22.

He was born in Beauceville, Quebec, on June 8, 1926, the son of Leon and Marie (Latulippe) Larochelle and attended schools in Lewiston.

Jean was an auto mechanic and transmission specialist for over 40 years, working for Marcotte Chevrolet and Louis Chevrolet for 30 of those years.

In 1945, he married Lottie Gervais. She died in 1980. He married Marguerite Jalbert in 1984.

Jean was always there for his family and friends working on their vehicles. He enjoyed doing many projects at his home, including working on cars, cooking and making his famous fudge for the holidays. He always look forward to traveling to many locations, especially bus trips, to Foxwood Resort with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Larochelle of Lewiston; his daughter, Carol Lotz and her husband, Dave, of Bethel Park, Pa.; his sons, Clayton Larochelle Sr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Lewiston and Michael Larochelle and his companion, Brenda, of Auburn; his grandchildren, Clayton Larochelle Jr., Melissa Nash, Aaron Larochelle and Ashlee Larochelle; his great-grandchildren, Dustin Larochelle, Carsen Nash, Destinee Dailey, Hayden Nash and Dominike Dailey; and his sister, Lucienne Poisson and her husband, Lucien, of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul and Aurelien Larochelle; and his sisters, Monique Leblanc, Jacqueline Roy, Rita Fortin and Jeannine Martel.
