RUMFORD – The Rumford Police Department responded to 85 complaints from 4 p.m. May 17 to noon May 24. These do not include traffic stops.
Arrests, summonses
On May 17 at 6:01 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was summoned for assault by Patrolman Lawrence Winson after biting another juvenile. The boy is scheduled to appear in Rumford Juvenile Court on Aug 4.
On May 19 at 10:25 a.m., Shannon Merriam., 38, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Donald Miller for violation of conditions of release. Merriam was taken to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 7.
On May 20 at 1:22 p.m., Michael Moore, 25, of Rumford was arrested by Cpl. Matthew Noyes for violation of conditions of release. Moore was taken to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 7.
On May 20 at 11:30 p.m., Adam Downs, 28, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Winson for disorderly conduct. Downs posted $500 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 7.
On May 21 at 12:34 a.m., Joanne Hill, 37, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Winson for domestic assault. Hill posted $500 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 7.
Jeffrey Hill, 20, of Rumford, was summoned for a useable amount of marijuana.
On May 21 at 1:08 p.m., Christie Gallant, 23, of Rumford was summoned by Sgt. Tracey Higley for operating after suspension. Gallant is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug. 4.
On May 22 at 12:45 a.m., William Gorham, 43, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Winson for eluding a police officer, operating under the influence and several other motor vehicle violations. Gorham posted $1,500 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in South Paris on Aug. 13.
On May 22 at 8:56 a.m., Jason Miller, 23, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman K. Scott Mills for tampering with a victim and violation of conditions of release. Miller was taken to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in South Paris on Aug. 13.
On May 23 at 2:58 p.m., Stanley Dennison, 40, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Donald Miller for violation of conditions of release and summoned for possession of a useable amount of marijuana. Dennison was transported to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 7.
On May 23 at 3:30 p.m., Daniel Marshall, 24, of Woodstock was summoned by Sgt. James Bernard for operating after suspension (habitual offender) and violation conditions of release. Marshall is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug 4.
On May 23 at 10:40 p.m., Paul Chase, 50, of Rumford was arrested by Sgt. James Bernard for operating under the influence. Chase posted $1,300 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug 4.
On May 24 at 12:40 a.m., Cyle Hawkins, 21, of Berlin, N.H., was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Winson for operating after suspension. Hawkins posted $1,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug 4.
Assault
On May 19 at 12:15 p.m., report of an assault between an adult brother and sister on Franklin Street. The victim refused to press charges and both were advised to stay away from each other for a while.
Burglary
On May 17 at 4:29 p.m., Maine Avenue resident reported a laptop computer and speakers valued at $375 were stolen from his residence.
On May 20 at 5:38 a.m., Oxford Avenue business reported someone attempted to forcibly break into the building. Damages to the screen door estimated at $50. Case under investigation.
