BUEL’S GORE, Vt. (AP) – An East Calais woman is dead and her husband severely injured following a motorcycle accident in Buel’s Gore in Chittenden County.

Vermont State Police say 55-year-old John Gall was operating the motorcycle on Route 17 on Monday when he lost control and went off the road. His wife, 55-year-old Sharon Gall, was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said John Gall was transported to Fletcher Allen hospital in Burlington with life-threatening injuries.

Police said Gall and his wife were wearing helmets.
