OXFORD – Owners of chickens, rabbits and other livestock are invited to a free swap fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tractor Supply Company at 1272 Main St.

Organizers are also inviting people who are curious about livestock or keeping livestock to the event, dubbed “Chickenstock” by local organizers.

“Mainly, it’s an opportunity for people to trade or sell livestock,” said Maria Brown, assistant manager of the Tractor Supply Company. The company, a national chain, has hosted similar events at other stores.

“But this has been organized by local people who are very passionate about their animals,” Brown said.

The event includes information on other social events, emergency illness discussions for keepers and discussions about various types of chickens, goats, rabbits and other animals.

“It’s a chance for them to meet and greet and sell their animals,” Brown said. “But there will be a fair amount of chickens there.”
