LEWISTON – Kathleen L. (Moody) McClure Higgins, 85, went to be with the Lord on May 25, at a Lewiston health care facility.

She was born May 23, 1924, in Hudson, a daughter of Burnis Woodbury and Grace Evelyn (Robbins) Moody.

Kay attended Old Town schools. She was a member of Hudson Baptist Church. She was employed by Old Town Canoe Co. for a number of years and was also a chambermaid at the Sheraton in Connecticut for several years. Kay’s favorite pastime was sending birthday and anniversary cards to everyone, even people she had only met once.

She is survived by her five children; daughter Linda McInich and husband, Donald Sr., of Newport, daughter Brenda Allen and husband, Fred, of Newport, daughter Donna Jenkins and husband, Kenneth, of Old Town, son Larry McClure and wife, Elaine, of Kenduskeag, daughter Pamela Allen and husband, Dennis, of Greene; twelve grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; six-great-great grandchildren; and a very special friend Rosaire Galarneau.

Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Earle in 1973; her parents; a sister, Mayfred Tibbetts; two brothers, Ralph and Galen Moody; three grandsons, Jeff, Scotty and Hunter.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to everyone from Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center in Lewiston.
