NEW YORK (AP) – Supporters of Israel came out in force for the annual Salute to Israel parade up Fifth Avenue.

Sunday’s parade celebrated the birth of the Jewish state in 1948 and also the 100th birthday of the city of Tel Aviv.

Some marchers wore I (heart) Tel Aviv T-shirts, and one group rolled a giant birthday cake up the avenue.

The annual march draws tens of thousands of people.
