PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet on Monday, June 8, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris.

A luncheon of honey glazed chicken followed by a special bread pudding dessert will be served at noon.

Cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon on Friday, June 5.

The meeting will start at 1 p.m. followed by a slide show and talk given by Richard Onofrio on his trip to the Himalayas.

Chicken barbecue

WEST PARIS – A chicken barbecue, sponsored by the West Paris Fireman’s Association, will be held at noon Saturday, June 6, at the West Paris Fire Station during West Paris Old Home Days.

The menu will consist of barbecued chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, three-bean salad, homemade rolls and strawberry shortcake.

The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for ages under 12.

Saturday dances

PARIS – Jones Dance Band will play old-fashioned dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27, at the South Paris Legion Hall, Church Street. The cost is $5 for adults. The lunch counter will be open.

Country Sunday

PARIS – Country Sunday will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the South Paris Legion Hall, Church Street. Entertainment will be by the Jones Dance Band and Just the Two of Us. The cost is $5 a person. There will be raffles, a 50/50, and the snack bar will be open.

Library speaker

WOODSTOCK – Cliff Gray of the locally owned Andrews and Greenleaf Funeral Homes will be the guest speaker at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Whitman Memorial Library.

He will discuss making pre-arrangements or dealing with the death of a loved one. There will be time for questions.

The free program is open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.

Supper dance

GREENWOOD – A supper dance will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the American Legion Hall, Gore Road., Locke Mills.

Music will be by the Two of Us, and supper will be prepared by the Legion Auxiliary. Price is adults, $10; children,$3.50. Doors will open at 4:30.

Grange supper

OXFORD – A public supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Oxford Grange, Route 26.

Menu will include roast pork and veggies, gingerbread and whipped cream.
